For the Dueling Cynic and Optimist in All of Us

B.C. Hitch

Designed as part of The Cooper Union’s Principles of Type Design course, B.C. Hitch is a typeface with a lot of love behind it. The inspiration behind the font was a cat I used to live with named Hitch. Hitch was missing an eye, and was a feisty character all around. In early sketches, I drew letters that were expressive, taking liberties with each glyph.
